Light up the sleigh this holiday season and take the time to look up. Look up are two words when combined together have many meanings.
When referring to interior design, designers remind clients to look up. We are acknowledging that the ceiling is a design space known as the “fifth wall”. Giving it more consideration than painting it white can really make a difference to our homes. Whether you choose to wallpaper, add some glamour or interest to a neutral space or create a focal point.
Lighting is another reason we look up. A lighting fixture can be jewelry to the eye, a work of art or a focal point to enjoy.
I look up to all the members of IDS Charlotte; an amazing group of dedicated people who have come together for a common goal; serving the best interests of the organization. It’s been an exciting year. In May, we were awarded the IDS National Excellence in Membership Growth and Engagement award. In September we reached the 100 member milestone for the first time in the history of IDSCLT. Last month, we elected the 2020 executive board. In addition, for the last couple of years we’ve been connecting and collaborating on the unique and unprecedented 2020 Showhouse Event.
Most importantly, I use the words look up to denote optimism, being positive, and encourage, not criticize. Embrace all that is good. When you need to reignite the fire in your soul, look up to the power of the sky. It represents all that is possible.
In the spirit of this holiday season, I wish you health, happiness and may all your dreams come true.
Give back this holiday season...make someone happy.
Respectfully Yours, Audrey Clawson Charlotte Chapter President IDS Professional
